In MEM dynamic retinoscopy the amount of the lag of accommodation is estimated by judging the width, speed and brightness of the retinoscopic reflex with refractive correction in place. The dioptric power of the lens that provides neutrality is equal to the accommodative lag or in some cases accommodative lead.
